FACING FUKUSHIMA

Nagadoro, Iitate, Fukushima looking south east from a scenic overlook on highway 399. Nagadoro is now a closed zone outside the 20 KM zone it served as an evacuation point for residents of Futaba but receive high doses of Radioactive contamination so high the town was evacuated and now is closed designated and a place where nit is unknown if residents will ever be allowed to return. According to local residents on the 15th of March a snow squall formed dropping snow contaminated by the fire and explosions earlier that day, this area of Iitate more then two months after the accidents has a radiation level of 3-5 times the levels in others parts of town (on the day of the photograph levels exceeded 15 micro severts per hour) A line of site view of the leaking Diachi Nuclear power complex nearly 30 km away during the winter months the sea around the plant can be seen.
