After the break up of the Soviet Union exploring alternative life styles became a way of life for may Russians. Searching for belief systems to fill the void left by the collapse of Communism. Cults of all kinds flourished. Left untouched until the mid 1990 when at the urging of The Russian Orthodox Church Laws were passed effetely outlawing Cults and Religions except for The 7 major religions of the world. Andre and his 5 wives practice what they call Tantra based on ancient beliefs that find their roots in Hindu and Buddhist practices. They believe the universe we experience is the manifestation of the divine energy within all of us and they can achieve enlightenment through the practice of physical and sexual rituals.
